    Former Chief Technology Officer at Rolls-Royce

    Richard (Ric) Parker is an independent Special Advisor, working with various companies and institutions in the fields of technology strategy and technology transfer. Clients include, BP, Rolls-Royce, LG Fuel Cells and A-Star, Singapore.
    Ric is Chairman of the Clean Sky European research programme (€4Bn), Chairman of the Singapore Aerospace Research Programme and President if ISABE (International Society of Air-Breathing Engines).

    Ric was appointed Director of Research & Technology, Rolls-Royce Group in January 2001 and retired in April 2016. He was responsible for direction and co-ordination of Research & Technology programmes across all the Rolls-Royce businesses, worldwide.

    Ric joined Rolls-Royce in 1978, and has held various posts including Chief of Composites and Ceramics, Chief of Compressor Engineering, Managing Director - Compressor Systems and Director of Engineering & Technology, Civil Aerospace.

    Ric gained a CBE for Services to Engineering in the 2013 new year's honours list. He was European CTO of the Year in 2014. In 2015 he was awarded the Royal Aeronautical Society Gold Medal.

    Ric is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Fellow of the City & Guilds Institute. Ric is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Engineers.

    Ric gained a BSc in Physics at Imperial College, London in 1975 and an MBA with distinction at Loughborough University in 1992. He has Doctorates (honoris causa) in Science and Engineering from Pusan National University, Korea and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; and from Imperial College, Loughborough University, Sheffield University and Heriot Watt University, in the UK.

    He is a visiting Professor in Aerospace and Transport Technology at Loughborough University, a visiting Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College, London and an Honorary Professor in Materials Engineering at Birmingham University, UK..

    President, South East Asia, Pacific & South Korea at Rolls-Royce Singapore Pte Ltd

    Dr Bicky Bhangu is President – South East Asia, Pacific and South Korea at Rolls-Royce where he is responsible for the regional strategy, external relations, and governance of the operational activities across the company’s key business sectors in the region – Civil Aerospace, Defence and Power Systems. He was previously Country Director for Singapore.

    Bicky is serving as President of the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore, as well as Vice President for the European Chamber of Commerce Singapore, and a member of their Board Executive Committee. Bicky is also the Vice President of Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) connecting and promoting SME business opportunities with the region and beyond. He served as the Chairman for Aerospace Industry Skills and Training Council (ISTC) supporting Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) to oversee the skills development for the aerospace industry (2013 – 2015) and served the Singapore Maritime Port Authority (MPA) as select committee member for R&D investment in green port technologies (2016 – 2018).

    Bicky is an Adjunct Professor at the Nanyang Technological University, He has a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Control Systems, PhD in Advanced Machines and Drives from the University of Sheffield and an MBA in Technology Management. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering Technology (IET), Fellow of Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and served as Chairman for IET Singapore Network and the steering committee for the IET Aerospace Technical Professional Network, UK (2015 – 17).
